Last weekend, I was able to run one full day “scrum workshop” with my colleague and friend Jesus Mendez. During the full day, we go through an agile deployment situation. We started with some basic concepts about agile and scrum, we created our “simulation” company: Origamix Inc. and we set up a safe environment to learn and share knowledge.
Our first activity was a kick-off meeting to announce to all executives from Origamix Inc. that we are going agile. We taught them how to handle a backlog and how to estimate a backlog. With a backlog estimated, we did 4 sprints with a lot of “bad” situations, great retrospectives, and “crazy” product owner behaviors. In the last 2 sprints, we started to see “good” situations, team collaboration, product owner integration, and a lot of business value delivered.
